Today’s Music City Bowl kicks at 1:30 on ESPN.

The simplest remaining playoff scenario is Alabama beating Michigan on Tuesday. If the Tide Rolls, it won’t matter what happens on Monday. Papa and Diss will be eliminated and the playoffs will be set with the following draft order.

3. Joel
4. Lil Londo

A Hawkeyes win on Monday …

… means nobody is eliminated and creates a TBD tiebreaker scenario for a playoff spot.

The following scenarios assume an Iowa win on Monday and tie to the subsequent outcome of Tuesday’s ReliaQuest Bowl, pitting the heavily favored Alabama Crimson Tide versus the Michigan Wolverines.

Scenario 2A – Alabama wins on Tuesday.

• In the playoffs (draft order)
  • Vivers (1st)
  • Princess P (2nd)
  • Joel (3rd)
  • Lil Londo (4th)
• Point Differential would give Lil Londo the 4th spot in a tiebreaker over Papa.

Scenario 2B – Michigan wins on Tuesday.

Let’s start with Monday’s Music City Bowl, 1:30 on ESPN. The Missouri Tigers and the Iowa Hawkeyes square off in a matchup of conference foes (if The Commish were the czar of college football realignment).

The Tigers are only a slight favorite to win per Vegas (-1.5) and ESPN (52.4%). But 83% of the remaining Bowl Battlers picked Missouri.

A Tigers win on Monday …

… eliminates Diss, leaves 5 combatants alive, and applies Windex to the playoff scenarios.

What about Chalky, our little friend who picked only the favorites to win each game? How is he feeling this morning?

Chalky started the season strong with five straight wins. He then faded, as underdogs won five of the next nine battles. A 9 – 5 record is respectable.

But Chalky was eliminated from the playoffs when the Mormons rounded up all the Buffalos for a bison burger feast at the Alamo.

Looking at Wins PLUS Point Differential in Losses (Tiebreaker #1) helps refine the playoff picture with two games remaining.

Princess P and Vivers are safely in the playoffs.

BYU’s 10+ point shellacking of Colorado eliminated Retro.

That leaves Papa, Joel, Lil Londo, and Diss battling for the final two playoff spots.
