Christmas Eve brings our sixth Bowl Battle as the San Jose State Spartans and the South Florida Bulls square off tonight in Hawai’i in what will hopefully be a close game. ESPN analytics predicts a USF win. Vegas slightly favors SJSU.
Warning … The Grinch will visit someone this evening. An SJSU win eliminates Noah, and a USF victory eliminates Kelly Kapouski and Pop.

Ok, people have been asking about the what (and why) of the term “chalk”. Here you go …
Seven players remain undefeated through five Battles: Joel, lil londo, Papa, princess p, QKarlo, Retro, and Vivers. Their strategy to pick the favorite (i.e., chalk) in each game has paid off.
Unfortunately, Ohio State’s win over Tennessee eliminated three players. Mama Balbas, Rich & ZuFu (last year’s runner-up) are mathematically eliminated. They can’t earn a playoff spot even if they win all the rest of their Battles. So, we’re down to 24 players competing for the four playoff spots.
The next Battle is the Hawai’i Bowl on Christmas Eve.

Note there is a 64.6% chance that we won’t see chalk across the board.
