These rules expired on December 1, 2024.

To align with the College Football Playoffs, we will have a Tournament + Championship Game format.  The tournament will determine the 2 finalists to participate in a Championship Game.

Section A – Tournament

  1. Select a winner of each bowl game.
  2. The two participants with the most correct selections qualify for the Championship Game.
  3. The point differential between the winner and the loser will be tracked for each game.
  4. The maximum point differential number awarded points is 14.  (added in 2013)
  5. The tiebreaker is the smallest point differential for games lost. (Example: Santa & Elfie each lost 2 games. The combined point differential in Santa’s 2 losses is 24 points and Elfie’s 2 losing teams lost by a combined 5 points. Elfie wins!)

Section B – Championship Game

  1. The top seed from the Tournament selects their preferred team in the College Football Playoffs Championship Game.
  2. The second seed from the Tournament is automatically assigned the other team.
  3. The winner of the Championship Game is the winner of the Bowl Battle.

Section C – General

  1. Participation is limited to the extended Laubach family as determined by The Commish.
  2. Default games include all Big 12, all New Year’s Day games, and others involving schools of local or family interest: Tulsa, Florida & Arkansas.
  3. If the game count does not equal 13, the commissioners will select games to add/remove.
  4. Selections must be submitted via the bowlbattle.com website.
  5. One submission per person.
  6. Upon submission, selections will be forwarded to the participant for confirmation.
  7. Individuals can update their picks (prior to the deadline) by sending an email with any changes to The Commish, Jr Commish, or Rookie Commish.
  8. Cost = FREE!
